WHY US

Our party statement

The Egalitarian Party stands for social equity; racial, gender, sexuality, socioeconomic and disability equity. Our goal is to have a green earth and prevent climate change, so that future generations can appreciate Australia’s natural beauty. We want to introduce clean and sustainable energy and ban single use plastics. We also think it’s vital to reform the police system to erase the racism that is deep rooted, and extend the time spent in the police academy to ensure officers are experienced before they have to deal with different scenarios in the field. We believe all standardised public tertiary education should be free for students and payed for by the state and that freedom of speech should be extended so that people over 17 years old will be allowed to input their opinions on laws and new policies.

Our Policies:

1. Keep Indigenous youth out of jail
2. Free tertiary education
3. Banning single use plastic and switching to renewable energy
4. Extend police training
5. Freedom speech on laws

Aboriginal youth in jail

The Equalitarian Party will introduce increased funding to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Legal Services. The Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Legal Services are the majorly preferred legal representation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and is underfunded. This will help Aboriginal teenagers stay out of prison as they will have ample legal representation, bail support and custody notification services. The services are community-controlled and have a deep understanding of the systemic racism in the legal system. The money needed to increase the funding will be taken out of the budget for the military, under the Morrison government they will be given $186 billion across the next ten years which is far more than needed.

Free Education

The Egalitarian party strives to have equality consistently flown through all aspects of the country. Whether you are upper class or lower class, we believe that everyone deserves a chance to learn. Free education will be given to public primary and secondary schools and Universities. However, all Private education will need to be paid for due to private schools usually being independently funded. Let everyone have an opportunity to learn!

Environmental protection from climate change and pollution.

As the Egalitarian party, we will strongly enforce environmental protection. The Egalitarian party will introduce a clean and sustainable energy policy, replacing coal production with cleaner options including (but not limited to): solar, wind and hydro energy generation. Alongside this policy, our party will be enforcing a complete nationwide ban on single use plastics such as takeaway cutlery, plastic bags and containers, etc. This will of course include all shops, food/grocery stores and chains and small businesses. Necessary single use items will be replaced with natural, sustainable and biodegradable alternatives.

Extend police training

The Egalitarian Party believe that police training should extend from 24 weeks of initial training to a whole year before going to their year of on the job training. It is our duty to keep this country safe and make sure our police force is experience and ready for all scenarios in their job. We will also make sure that all people are treated equally by our officers and if not, there will be consequence for the officers’ behavior.

Freedom of speech

The Egalitarian party will implement a better system into each state’s government, so people have more of a say to what happens around them. the system will include the government sending out a yearly online survey where people over the age 17 can indicate their views of important laws and if they are a need for a better service. For example, if we need to build a new freeway or decrease our plastic usage.  This survey will help the government form laws, policies and decision as the people’s options and views will be considered.
